INVASION -

POWER TRIP

WORDS BY LEE BARBER

Invasion are a band who leave everything out on the stage. Their live performances give it all, give you everything, they pour their entire being in a hard hitting display of epically loud music swimming in melody, always on the edge of chaos, always on the edge of drowning. Somehow they’ve been able to replicate the sounds they produce live with Power Trip, the debut single which dropped on Friday 1st August.

During the recording process we worked hard creating a mixture of groove and heaviness with big chorus to create a track reminiscent of the youth crew era but following a heavy hardcore sound.

The energy is relentless from the off, incessant drum beats and grooves laying a hectic foundation for calculated vocals and intricately powerful guitar work. You can feel the emotions running through the track, and you are given a sense that this young band a a collection of individuals who just want to make cool music, but carry a certain sense of direction, that sense of ambition that can carry a band across the UK and towards the forefront of a national wide scene.

The band drop the song with perfect timing, leading up to the 2025 edition of Storm Fest, Stoke-on-Trent’s all day event screaming out its support of underground hard core music from not only the local area but all over the UK. Grab your tickets to the event through the link below.

Power Trip cements Invasion’s place in Stoke’s hard core scene, ensuring the genre continues to grow from strength to strength, along with the likes of Smother, 2x4 and South Walk.

We had help from both Jordan Wright and Jonny Price to create grooves that are constantly full volume nonstop energy with no breaks and heavy drops.
